My mother bought this as a Christmas gift for my 9 month old. Now realizing that she is not within the recommended age range, this was still a great toy. She has an extreme love of "Hidey-Holes" that is deep and real. The ball pit is the perfect size for her to crawl into and give her the sensation that she is hiding. The balls that come with it are soft and are easy for her to pick up. The dangling ball in the center hangs low enough that she can bat at it, but still gives her enough room to sit up and move around without whacking her head.
The only issues I really have with it are
The inflatable panels on two sides are ENORMOUS! You need a bike pump to blow it up unless you want to cause yourself to become light-headed.
The Ball pit is rather tall and can be flipped over without an issue. My daughter flipped the whole thing over when trying to reach the tallest hole.
The toy only comes with 50 balls which don't even cover the bottom of the pit. Right now this is fine as my daughter really is more interested in getting in and out of it, but for an older child, 50 balls just won't be much fun. We all remember "burying" ourselves in the ball pit as kids, so make sure you buy extra.
